Our first Pack meeting of the year will be on Monday, September 14 at the Presbyterian Church on Queen Anne Ave from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
We’re starting the year with a BLAST. STOMP ROCKETS!
Cub Scouting is a family oarticipatory activity. On Monday, you’ll be helping your boys build the stomp rockets. You’ll also help your den build a launcher. You’ll fire them off a couple/few times. Experiment. Talk about the science of rockets. Rebuild them. Fix them when they break. You can then go home and do some more experimenting together with your son. In addition, many of the dens will also continue stomp rocketing at an upcoming den meeting. You’ll see who has the coolest rocket. Tbe fastest rocket. The rocket that goes the highest, longest, straightest, craziest trajectory… If you’re
intrigued, here’s a quick video on one way to build them. But, you can do your
own design as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSS6ybomPLk Hint: Watch it at 2X
speed and it takes only 2 minutes. Click
on the cog wheel. Please feel free to bring siblings along to participate. Pack 7072 not only Welcomes all families, we welcome the whole family. Pack Meeting Agenda: 6:30 Doors Open … Start building your rockets 7:00 Official Pack Meeting start For all the new families, we’ll have orientation and Q&A. Please see the “Information for all the new families” section below. Remember to have the boys wear their Class A Uniforms. If you’re new, see the information below on what you need. If you don’t have time, given all the activities surrounding the start of school, don’t worry about it. No problem. Just come. We’re be handing out Class B uniforms at the meeting – which are our Pack 7072 t-shirts. We know that some of you who joined in the spring were given t-shirts that were way too large. Hopefully, we’ll have your boy’s size on the 14th. Den meetings will start Monday, September 21. We’ll provide more den information at the pack meeting. Please feel free to email me (coombs_jeff@earthlink.net) or call me (650-823-2504) if you have questions. There is also a list of den leaders on the pack website. Tthe website (www.qacubscouts.org) is up-to-date so you can always go there for the latest information. I am very much looking forward to a fun and exciting year. Jeff Coombs Cubmaster Pack 7072
