Greetings from Queen Anne Cub Scouts Pack 70 & 72!

Here is your March 2009 post-on-the-refrigerator material for Cub Scouts for the remainder of the month...it is a fun-filled month for Scouting!

Monday, March 2:
Tiger Den Meeting @ 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church (meet in Fellowship Hall, not Parlor)
Wolf, Bear, Webelos Den Meetings @ 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church (Webelos in Youth House at 11 Howe)

Please encourage your scouts to wear their red Pack t-shirts to school today!  Watch for den meeting content details from your den leaders. If you missed out on registering for summer camp, please contact Dave Petersen:  dave.petersen@live.com

Friday, March 6:
2009 Pinewood Derby Car Check-in - 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Bethany Presbyterian Church (Fellowship Hall) [volunteers still needed]

Saturday, March 7:
2009 Pinewood Derby Race Day - Opening ceremony begins 10:00 A.M. at Bethany Presbyterian Church (Fellowship Hall); Onsite Deli / (see earlier emails re: details of the day, what to bring and volunteers needed)

Monday, March 9:
Tiger Den Meeting @ 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church (meet in Fellowship Hall, not Parlor)

Saturday, March 14:
2009 Scouting for Food Door Hangar Distribution - Meet at Rodgers Park upper play area (NW corner 1st Ave. W. & Raye St.) at 9:45 a.m. for safety & logistics briefing, maps, buddy assignments and door hangars.

You need not be able to participate in both Saturdays for Scouting for Food; either or both is fine - they are both fun! Our 2009 goal is 1000 lbs of food to be donated to our local food banks, so your participation counts!

Monday, March 16:
Pack Meeting (all dens) @ 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church - First Aid

Please encourage your scouts to wear their uniforms to school today! The Tiger Den is hosting this meeting. Please plan to arrive early for set-up, greeting and flag ceremony and plan to stay afterward for tear down.

Saturday, March 21:
2009 Scouting for Food Donation Collection - Meet at Rodgers Park upper play area (NW corner of 1st Ave. W. & Raye St.) at 9:45 a.m. for safety & logistics briefing, maps, and buddy assignments.

Friday, March 27 (overnight):
Cub Scout (& Siblings) Camp-in at Pacific Science Center - Fee per person is $36 (due by March 16).  6:00 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. the following day!

Monday, March 30:
Family Game Night - No School (spring break).  7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Queen Anne Methodist Church (Fellowship Hall).

We need a point-person to coordinate this low-key, fun family event. (effort required is minimal; please consider helping)

  • 2009 Webelos Crossover:  Sunday, April 19 - You won't want to miss this tradition of scout pageantry and celebration as
  • our oldest Cub Scouts officially become Boy Scouts...bring tissues!
  • Neighborhood Clean-up:  Monday, April 20 @ 6:30 p.m.
  • Spring Round-Up:  Monday, June 8
