When: August 12, 7:00pm-9:00pm. Volunteers are needed to arrive at 6:45 p.m. for set-up and/or to help with “leave no trace” clean-up after 9:00 p.m.
Where: Colman Pool in West Seattle (8603 Fauntleroy Way SW Seattle, 98136. (206) 684-7494). The parking lot is on Faultleroy, so you’ll need to walk down to the pool.
What to bring: Swimsuit, towel, goggles, $2 for admission per person (the Pack is subsidizing the cost with the monies raised by the boys during last year’s popcorn sales…way to go scouts!!), change of clothes for after, and a potluck snack plate (e.g. crackers&cheese, chips&dip, sliced fruit/vegetables, etc.). We’ll have a table set up for the snacks. Feel free to bring more substantial meal items for yourselves and picnic on the ‘lawn’ area next to the pool.
We’ll have the WHOLE pool to ourselves! We’ll have games planned out for the Cub Scouts, and a station where the Cub Scouts can complete elements for their Swimming belt loop (and pin). Friends who may be interested in scouting, Troop 70 & 72 Boy Scouts and siblings are welcome to participate in all the games and fun! Note, a swim “test” is required to enter the deep end of the pool and kids under age 6 must be accompanied in the water by an adult. The Colman pool lifeguards will be on staff to administer that test.
Pack Point Person for this Event: Dan Holmquist, Assistant Cub Master; 425-457-4679, firstname.lastname@example.org
Look forward to seeing you there!
