The Spring Round-Up celebrates our current scouts and shares scouting with our friends. We’ll let our scouts show off their scouting feats, have fun and invite new families to learn about scouting. The Roundup is the culmination of "chatting up" scouting in the schools and around the QA neighborhood - we are presenting at all four elementary neighborhood schools the week before the Roundup - more details below. When: Monday, June 7 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. (formal event starts promptly at 7:00 P.M. but we need current scouts to arrive at 6:30 P.M. to help set up their den “brag” tables, greet our visitors, get our new Pack t-shirts) Where: Bethany Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall (1818 Queen Anne Ave N). We are looking forward to having our families together and to share the fun of scouting with other families in our community at our Spring Round-Up event on Monday. The success of the evening depends on each and every scout! Here’s how you and your scout can participate: C Invite friends and their families to come to the June 7th event and to sign-up to join Queen Anne Cub Scouts. There will be a formal flag ceremony, introductions, “hands-on” scouting and games for the kids(!) and parent mingling and orientation. Feel free to just forward along this email to those families who may be interested in scouting. If they can’t join us on June 7th, feel free to invite them to our June 14th Advancement Pack meeting, or an upcoming den meeting or summertime event. C Wear uniforms or orange Pack t-shirts to school on June 7th! C Ask your scout to watch for our scout leaders at their schools during lunch time and to be prepared to help them that day! We encourage the scouts to wear their orange Pack t-shirts on these days: St. Anne’s on June 2nd. Coe Elementary on June 3rd. John Hay on June 4th. Seattle Country Day School on June 4th. C For scouts who attend Coe Elementary, arrive at 8:50 a.m. to the Monday Morning Meeting on June 7th (in uniform) to participate in a flag ceremony for your classmates at the meeting! If you attend another school, you are still welcome to join the flag ceremony (if a modestly late arrival at your school is OK). C Bring your cool scouting creations and awards to the June 7th Round-Up for your Den’s “brag” table…derby cars, regatta boats, ribbons, posters, patches, handbooks, trophies, etc. (be sure your name is on whatever you bring!). You will be getting more input from your Den Leaders about this. We also need everyone to be saving empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls to bring to the event for one of the “hands-on” scouting activities…thanks! C Parents, come prepared on the 7th to lend a hand with last-minute “tasks” and more importantly to share your scouting stories with other families who want to learn more about scouting for their children. Thanks to all our volunteers for helping to make our Spring Round-Up event something to remember! |
